I get asked a lot of questions about it; people  sustainable designer  seem to be interested in the story, the different parts of the project in terms of the text, the linoleum blocks, the prints, and the sound piece. I think it’s made people very curious and interested in learning more about TX288, its affect on the environment surrounding it, what it’s meant for Houston, and its history as a whole. It’s certainly made me more interested in exploring those things more deeply.

Her practice explores the materiality of objects, disassembling wood and steel, and building with dirt and paint, seeking to make visible the experiences of resistance, grief, joy, and softness. Jurassic World: Rebirth

 

I was inspired by the connection between Third Ward, TX288, and the neighborhood I grew up in, Hiram Clarke. Hand building, sculpture, wheel throwing, raku firing, and more. Since then, they have had the opportunity to perform and choreograph at mind the gap and other local festivals.

Students observe the world around them to collect stories and build characters, then work together to create an original play under the guidance of expert teaching artists. All faculty and staff will be parking off-site in order to maximize space for you and our other patrons. We encourage you to arrive early to find a parking space prior to checking your student(s) in or out. Friday will be particularly hectic mid-day because of Friday Finale, and we strongly suggest that you arrive early and/or find off-site parking. If the Ursuline parking lot is full, you may also park at the Central Public Library Parking Garage or in one of the paid parking lots along our perimeter.

 

The world’s most popular theme park has some secrets behind its castle gates. There’s something special about baking crisps in cast-iron. It heats evenly, helping the fruit bubble up beautifully and the topping turn extra crisp. No problem — a standard 9×13″ baking dish will work just as well.

Students work alongside our active professional theatre company on our campus in Malvern, under the mentorship of experienced Teaching Artists. Our virtual and in-person Spring Break programs allow students to spend their week off learning and creating. Open to students in grades 3-12, Saturday Studios gives young creators the chance to make art every weekend. At MassArt, we know that every child is an artist, a tinkerer, and a maker.

 

Six Flags has just announced that they’re CLOSING on of their theme parks entirely this… For starters, there are some entertainment offerings returning for the summer you don’t want to miss! While these offerings are not new as they have been seen in the parks before, they are returning for summer. For all who believe the wilderness must be explored, you can unlock a special, limited-time Wilderness Explorers badge along the way. As you make your way around the park, keep an eye out for some amazing animals, including tigers, okapi and more. Get ready to roam, explore, and earn your adventure stripes!

 

One of the items that will be available for purchase will be a Toothless Shoulder Buddy. Sessions explore a variety of methods and each month will focus on a new project/theme. Whether it’s a birthday, a bachelorette party, or simply a girls’ night out, we’ve got just the thing to make it an unforgettable occasion. We aim to ensure the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff and will follow guidance from the CDC, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and local public health officials.

 

Class instructors and camp counselors will be on-hand to supervise students during all Summer Art Studios activities. Summer Art Studios classes can be rigorous, focused, and require skills sets (both physical, verbal, and cognitive) that might not be appropriate for all youth and teens. If your child has any learning challenges or special needs, or if you have any questions or concerns about the appropriateness of a class for your child before registering them please reach out.

 

Students will also have time to develop their work during supervised open-studio time. The arts teach children and teens vital skills that nurture intellectual and creative development with skills that prepare them for the 21st century. A leader in arts education for five decades, Community Art Programs offer multiple avenues for access to the visual arts for young artists across San Antonio. Join us for an exciting week of creativity, where you can be both an artist and a historian!

 

The Floyd Newsum Summer Studios Program provides an opportunity for emerging, socially engaged artists to create and exhibit work that respond to and/or is reflective of the community. Summer Studio 25 invites you to explore the artistry and mechanics of urban forms that have shaped flourishing communities for centuries. With a focus on beauty in human-scaled city building, you’ll learn how timeless design principles can be applied to modern development opportunities. Summer Studios is fortunate to be surrounded by talented artists who love to teach!
